The Health Department Clinic is here to help you. It’s a free clinic that provides medical, dental, and optical services to the community. We work with community partners who also provide some services at the clinic.
The Health Department Clinic is open to the public, and services are offered at a low cost. Services include:
All of these tests are available at our clinic, and they’re performed by certified medical professionals who have been trained to administer them properly. You can also get help with other issues that affect your health, such as nutrition counseling or smoking cessation classes.
Community Health Department Clinic Nursing services are provided to all residents of the community regardless of their ability to pay. The main focus is on preventive health care and education, but we also provide emergency medical care and limited outpatient treatment for acute conditions. Our nursing staff includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs), and other clinical personnel who work together to provide comprehensive services for our patients. On-site laboratory testing is available for blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, venipuncture draws, and urinalysis interpretation by an off-duty physician from Parkland Hospital who comes in once a week on Thursdays from 8 am – 12 pm at no charge!
The Environmental Health Department Clinic Program is an integral part of the health department and provides public health services to the community. The program is responsible for the management of public health issues within its jurisdiction, including communicable diseases, food safety, environmental hazards, and vector control. It helps to protect the health and safety of people who live in or visit our community.
Every day, we see patients who need care for a variety of issues. From the common cold to more serious conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, our staff is ready to help you get back on track with your healthcare goals.
In addition to offering treatment for chronic illnesses, we also provide primary care services such as annual physical examinations for adults (including women who are pregnant), well-child visits for babies through age 5 years old; immunizations including flu shots; laboratory tests such as blood pressure checks or cholesterol screenings; referrals to specialists when they are needed by our doctors
